Dr. Vidyadhar Gopal Oke

1. Medicine : Dr. Vidyadhar Gopal Oke is a Medical Doctor who completed his M.B.B.S and M.D from Seth G.S.Medical College, University of Bombay. Trained later at the Wellcome Foundation, London Business School, and Dukes University in North Carolina (U.S.A), he contributed for 28 years in the Pharmaceutical field as a Medical Director/President for the Indian business of companies such as Glaxo, Burroughs Wellcome, Wockhardt and Nicholas Piramal. He registered over 100 new medicinal brands in the country including 25 new medicines, and has over 100 research publications/presentations to his credit. He has worked on the panel of experts at the Board of Studies, University of Mumbai and National and International bodies of Pharmaceutical manufacturers in India.

2. Music : Dr.Oke is also a renowned Musician, a third generation Harmonist and he learned Harmonium for 25 years from the Harmonium-maestro Late Pandit Govindrao Patwardhan. His first public performance was a Harmonium Solo in 1972 on Mumbai Doordarshan. He was awarded "Sur-Mani" by Sur Singar Samsad in 1978. He has participated in over 150 recordings on T.V, in the Film Industry and he has appeared in several prestigious music conferences in India and abroad. He has presented Solo Harmonium performances in USA and UK. He accompanied Padmashri Manik Verma on Harmonium in her 22 Concert tour of USA in 1987, and has also accompanied many stalwarts including Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande in many concerts. He has accompanied Asha Bhosle on Bombay Television. He has written a book on his Research : "22 Shrutis and Melodium".

Dr. Oke has designed, invented, and patented a Novel "22-Shruti-Harmonium (Melodium)", the 1st and the only harmonium capable of playing 22 Shrutis in the World today, and also the world's 1st "22-Shruti-Metallophone" providing accurate and standardized 22 Shrutis. 3. Astrology : Dr.Oke is an Expert in Indian, Western, and Oriental Astrology and consults on Astrology in his office in Thane. He has authored 2 books, one on Human Behaviour and its relation to Astrology (Manoranjak Svabhavshastra), and the other on Chinese system of 'Decision Making' (Mitra Jivacha).
